Rebuttal to False Information about Monica Pignotti on Digg.com

The purpose of this blog is to rebut the false information that is on digg.com about me that they refuse to remove. The story (which I will not link to here because I do not want to give them more publicity) tells lies about me that I am being sued for "defamation" and under "Investigation" in three states. To anyone Googling "Monica Pignotti" please read this first. I am not being sued for defamation and am not under investigation in any states or by anyone, nor is there any kind of "class action" against me. This is so ridiculous that I would be laughing if it were not so potentially damaging to my reputation.
My record is squeaky clean and has remained clean throughout my life. These lies were perpetuated against me by people who apparently are angry with me for expressing my opinions and skepticism about claims being made. I wrote to digg.com to try to have the lies removed, but they have refused, maintaining that this is their right to "free speech". Apparently the folks at digg.com think it is just fine to perpetuate false information, even when they have been informed that the information is false. They had two false postings about me. One they took down which was about a law suit that was thrown out 7 years ago. I have been threatened with law suits and once, in 2002, thirty people (including me) who had expressed skepticism about the claims of an alternative medicine practitioner who claimed to have "the cure for all diseases" were sued for "racketeering" . However, that suit was so obviously ludicrous that the judge threw it out immediately and I didn't even have to hire a lawyer -- that was 7 years ago. People can read about that at this link if they would like to have a good laugh at the absurdity of accusing scholarly people who ask for research evidence and refuse to believe unsupported claims, to be "racketeers". The gentle "new agers" from this group also wrote that they hoped that I would get cancer. What a nice, loving bunch of folks!
The other false posting on digg.com which states that I am being sued for "defamation" and under "investigation" remains up and they refuse to take it down. This probably got started because of idle, baseless threats that were made against me by someone who knew she had no case against me and never followed through. So I will state for the record, that this is not true. I am not being sued for defamation and the digg.com produced no evidence whatsoever for this. Ironically, the digg.com poster only linked to one of my blogs where I explicitly stated just the opposite. It is very disconcerting to me to see this false information from digg.com come up on the first page of Google searches on my name. Hopefully this posting will set the record straight.
